Butler Creek StripLULA and pistol LULA review

Butler Creek StripLULA It wasn’t until the past couple of years that I had much use for any sort of magazine loading tool. I grew up shooting bolt-action rifles and pump shotguns, and even when I started shooting semi-autos, my first were a 1911-style pistol and a Chinese SKS… not exactly firearms that are difficult to load by hand.

It wasn’t until the past couple of years that I finally joined the double-column magazine fraternity, with a couple of polymer pistols and my first AR-15. I discovered how stiff magazine springs can be in some firearms, and discovered that loading stubborn magazines can suck the joy out of an otherwise great day at the range.

That should not ever be a problem again. I just reviewed a pair of Butler Creek magazine loading tools for, the 5.56 StripLULA for AR-15 rifles and the Universal Pistol LULA.

Let’s just say that like the CMMG stainless steel .22LR conversion kit I reviewed previously, theses two tools will be staying with me for a long, long time.
